Evening Dress Trends : Met Gala Review
If you have a special event coming up and not sure what to wear then this is the blog for you. Below are the 5 top evening dress trends from this year’s Met Gala.
1 . Metallics
Balmain went metallic crazy at the Met Gala this year dressing the likes of the Kardashians and Cindy Crawford. From evening dresses in silver to gunmetal and even bronze, high necks and thigh high slits. Gigi Hadid took this trend to another level by having a metallic bodice and chiffon skirt combination.
2. Cut Outs
The second big trend on the Met Gala carpet was dramatic cutouts. As seen on Nicole Kidman, Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss, who wore a simple neat Calvin Klein design with exaggerated side cutouts.
3. Cold Shoulder
From one shoulder to cold shoulders combined with very high necks like Zendaya and a dramatic train as worn by Emma Watson. Amy Schumer and Kate Upton teamed this trend with high slits.
Calvin Klein set this evening dress trend at the Met Gala. Alessandra Ambrosio combined the metallic trend and the white trend by accessorizing with a dramatic waisted belt. Margot Robbie looked elegantly sophisticated with a crisp strapless dress with cutouts.
5. Exaggerated Trains
Exaggerated dramatic trains also ruled the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala. Blake Lively’s train had cascading floral detail, Katy Perry went black velvet ans Lupita wore her signature colour with a sheer dramatic train.
And then there were the game changers ! The top 3 most dramatic dresses of the Met Gala were Rita Oro, who combined all the trends, Claire Danes who’s custom made dress lit up at night, then there was Zoe Saldana with the biggest elaborate peacock train of all.
