Matric Dance Dress Inspiration : Awards Season
The 2016 Awards Season is coming to a close and we’ve definitely seen some of the hottest fashion on the red carpet. Get your matric dance dress inspiration from the People’s Choice Awards to the Grammy’s and everything in between, our favourite celebs didn’t disappoint. This Awards Season has been filled with sexy cut-outs, thigh-high slits and simple elegance.
At the People’s Choice Awards, our matric dance dress inspiration came from these two stand out stars, Vanessa Hudgens and Kate Hudson. Vanessa shone in a strappy metallic dress with a beautiful slit that accentuated her gorgeous legs. Paired with a strappy heel and black clutch, this look was elegant yet edgy. Looking gorgeous in a strapless white jumpsuit with a flared leg and pulled-back hair, Kate Hudson shows that less is sometimes more and simple elegance never goes out of style.
Or find your matric dance dress inspiration from Our favourite from the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Our favourite looks have to go to Rooney Mara and Sofia Vegara. Rooney Mara looked flawless in this flowing black gown with a plunging neckline. Although she wore hardly any jewellery, this simple black dress was definitely a stand-out because of its neckline. Sofia Vegara definitely brought hot pink back in style. Throughout this Awards Season, we’ve seen many different shades of pink on the red carpet but of course, no one quite stands out like Sofia. Accessorised with a hot pink clutch and statement jewellery she really pulls off this look.
Now let’s look at the SAG Awards and Golden Globes for your matric dance dress inspiration. Arguably one of the biggest nights in Hollywood, this year was no exception and our star definitely owned that red carpet. Our show-stopping ladies in red were definitely Jennifer Lawrence and Emmy Rossum. Both ladies looked drop-dead gorgeous in this fiery colour and both gowns were form-fitting accessorised with statement necklaces. While Emmy Rossum looked elegant with her soft curls, Jennifer Lawrence went for a slightly edgier look with a short hair pulled back and side cut-outs in her dress.
Some stars definitely shone more than others in beautifully embellished and sequin gowns. Olivia Wilde shows us that although Marsala was the colour of the year in 2015, it’s still HOT HOT HOT! This fitted sequin dress shows off her gorgeous body and is accentuated further by the plunging neckline. While we did see a lot of them last year, Kate Hudson still rocks this two piece showing that good style never goes out of fashion. And how could be forget Mrs Dewan Tatum in this beautiful midnight blue ball gown with silver embellishments. It is the Golden Globes after all and who doesn’t love a ball gown that is classy but still sexy.
Stand out colours and styles were the pick of the day at this year’s Grammy Awards. The hottest stars on the red carpet included Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. Selena dazzled us in this sequin midnight blue cut-out fitted dress which was sexy and chic with a touch of elegance. Taylor Swift definitely made a fashion statement in this orange and pink two piece ball gown. This Grammy Princess definitely rocked this colour-blocking two piece trend.
